HARTE full name: olivia quinn harte canon or orginial: original age: sixteen year: sixth house: slytherin blood: pureblood wand: 8 1/2 in., dark wood, hippogriff feather patronus: panther boggart: losing her brother alfie who joined voldemort erised: finding true love (though she would never admit it) birth place: york, england ------------------------------------------------- olivia quinn harte was born into a wealthy family of york. her father, harrison harte (formerly in slytherin), is a well known and prestigious member of the magical enforcement squad at the ministry of magic. her mother, quinn harte (a former ravenclaw) is a muggle-born witch who works as a healer at st. mungo's hospital. olivia also has two older brothers. aiden harte, the eldest, a former slytherin, is in auror training. the middle child, alfie harte, also a former slytherin, has run away to join tom riddle's followers. he is only twenty, and has such great talent as a wizard like his older brother, but has dabbled in dark magic and become a certified death eater. olivia's parents considered alfie a disgrace to the family. they do not support the death eaters despite the family's long legacy in slytherin, and some questionable company they keep. harrison and quinn met at hogwarts of course. harrison is a pure blood, but one of the few slytherin who weren't particularly concerned for blood status. harrison was an average student, recieved standard grades, but was a very talented quidditch player. quinn on the other hand was particularly talented in her studies, reaching above average levels on her OWLs and NEWTs. quinn was a ravenclaw prefect for fifth and sixth years, and head girl in seventh year. she is also a muggle born witch. it was certainly a meeting of opposites attract. when they were married after graduating, neither of their parents supported their marriage. they faced a lot of opposition to their relationship, but lasted anyway and had three children. aiden, the eldest, was much like his mother. very talented in school, a bit of a nerd really. alfie, born two years after aiden was not quite like either of his parents. he was very clever, but his intelligence seemed rather misplaced. he was a very talented wizard, but only when it came to things that were interesting to him and therefore simply couldn't focus in the classroom. alfie was only interested in learning things that would benefit himself at the very moment, so much of his learning he did alone in his room while neglecting the homework he actually needed to do. alfie did however, inherit his father unmistakable talent for quidditch. he played as a beater like his father and was a particularly aggressive one. three years after the birth alfie came olivia. olivia is very close with both her brothers. as an auror, aiden had to cut off all contact with his brother when they found out he had joined the death eaters. aiden couldn't compromise his future as an auror for being associated with alfie. for olivia however, who is still in hogwarts, still writes to alfie. she is the only one in the family who doesn't judge him for joining the death eaters. she really doesn't see the importance of being a pure blood, but the amount of power within the small circle of death eaters is a very attractive quality to the path her brother has chosen. growing up both of olivia's brother have been protective of her, especially at hogwarts, but olivia has proven she is perfectly capable of taking care of herself. now that aiden and alfie have both taken very different paths in life, they have each been battling for her loyalty in a way. aiden (and their parents) wants her to keep minimal contact with alfie. aiden knows all too well that olivia is a very talented witch, but she is also fixated with power, and she may be tempted to sway towards a path like alfie's. |

a roleplay sample:
adrienne quinn hart made her way across the hogwarts grounds towards the forbidden forest. she was enjoying a perfectly good evening of torturing a timid seventh year into completing her ancient runes essay, when she was reminded of her detention that evening that she would have to serve in the forbidden forest. it could not have been a worse night, too. dark and grey clouds filled the sky, covering the full moon, and a drizzle began to pour down on her from above. great, now her robes would get soaked. she pulled the hood of her slytherin robes up over her head to shield her chocolate waves from getting flattened. what was dumbledore thinking?! she could practically see a few steps in front of her, let alone go searching through the thickness of the forbidden forest searching for some useless weeds. and all because of christoph winter rivers. she folded her arms close to her body to keep warm, thinking angrily about his toothy grin that had lured her into that duel. it was far too difficult to resist hexing that ignoramus, she thought to herself.
the rain gained a little strength and she quickened her pace. the faster she collected the five weeds they needed, the better. she didn't need christoph, she would do this on her own. like she always preferred to do things. she found herself at the edge of the forest and decided not to wait for christoph. she was a little early, and had no intentions of waiting for him. if everything went her way, she wouldn't even have to see his face tonight. she would slip into the forest early, gather the weeds for detention and return them to the headmaster before christoph could interfere. adrienne peaked around from under her hood at the outskirts of the forest. no sign of him yet that she could see. she hurried into the forest.
the trees provided a little more cover from the rain, but she kept her hood up regardless to protect her locks. the forest floor was muddy and disgusting. within seconds her sneakers were soaked through and had turned the color brown. she decided she'd just clean up once she sought the warm shelter of the castle. right now she had a job to get done before christoph would catch up with her, or worse, had the same plan in mind and would finish gathering the roots before her. as she trudged through the forest she looked avidly around for the weeds she sought, but she couldn't help looking around nervously every few minutes. she was in her seventh year and this was definitely not her first time in the forest, but that didn't mean it didn't scare her. even a big bad slytherin like adrienne was hesitant about being anywhere near the forbidden forest at night. not to mention the full moon looming above. werewolves. she shuddered and pushed the thought out of her mind.
she continued on. luckily, potions was one of adrienne's strong suits. it was always one of her favorite subjects and she was determined that she would be able to spot the fluxweed with ease. it was a common used ingredient in potions class and she even recalled chopping it up before in class. then she spotted it among a bed of shrubs. perfect, that was sooner than she had expected. she looked around again one last time then examined the weed to be sure. yes, this was it. unfortunately, she was forbidden to use magic to gather the plant, and they were always firmly rooted in the ground so that the strength of two or more people would be necessary to more easily uproot the fluxweed. adrienne was convinced she didn't need anyone and she could handle this herself. she was a strong, fit, quidditch captain and she believed her own strength was plenty. she didn't need the help of that pansy, christoph, she thought.
she leaned forward and began to yank at the plant. damn, this was more difficult than she expected. she pulled and pulled, her full concentration on the task at hand. then she suddenly spotted a nest a spider eggs woven within the shrubs. her eyes widened. oh god. this was worse than a werewolf. her greatest fear. spiders. her whole body shivered. just back away slowly, she told herself. she could hex them away then get back to the fluxweed. then, suddenly, she felt a creepy crawly sensation on her shoulder she turned and screamed at the top of her lungs.
