Underbroom full name: Raevonna Isis Underbroom canon or original: Original age: 16 year: 6 house: Ravenclaw blood: pure blood wand: 10" Rigid Hornbeam with a core of Unicorn Hair patronus: Hawk boggart: Flying/Heights erised: Sitting at a table in her old age surrounded by her friends and family. birth place: Chesterfield ------------------------------------------------- Rae was born on February 14th, 1960 in Chesterfield to Maria and Dante Underbroom. At the time she had two older brothers, John who had been seven years old and Tristan who had been two. Her life started out being loved by the members around her. Her Grandmother had been the one to spoil her the most out of all of them. Nothing of real interest happened until Rae was four years old. Her oldest brother John took her flying soon after he returned from his first year at Hogwarts himself. The pair were having fun and were up high in the sky when things took a turn for the worst. Rae lost her balance and fell off the broom. Luckily their father had been watching and was able to slow Rae's decent before she was able to get hurt. Ever since then however, she has been more than content to keep her feet on the ground. The fallowing week Rae woke up from a dream of her mother breaking her favorite plate. She thought not much of it until her grandmother and an aunt she had never met before came over for tea. She watched as her mother was carrying the same plate in the same manner as her dream. She commented that it was the same catching the attention of her grandmother. Just as soon as she took her mother to be careful the plate slid out of the woman's hands and crashed to the floor. It was clear that Rae had inherited the family's tradition of Seers. A fact that was not well liked by the visiting aunt who instantly volunteered to give Rae her basic training as a Seer. The woman had ulterior motives and would torture Rae daily with the Crutiatus Curse. Rae was forbidden from telling anyone about what was done and she told no one. Two years later her mother gave birth once again to a boy named Mathew. Rae, being six at the time helped her mother out in caring for the young child. She would even spoil her younger brother with cookies whenever she could. When she was eleven years old she received her letter for her to attend Hogwarts. Her Grandmother gave her a silver tabby kitten as a gift for getting into the school. Rae was off to her first year along with Tristan who was to attend his third year. She was placed into Ravenclaw house and started her studies of magic. She had come to enjoy school more as for those months she knew she would not have to deal with her aunt's training. Things did not change for Rae until before her own third year. It was then that her grandmother finally found out what the aunt had been doing all this time. The elderly woman acted a quickly and within a few days Rae training was transferred to her grandmother as her aunt was carted off to Askaban. Rae's life has greatly settled since then and she has been able to focus more on her studies, however ever since her aunt's influence, Rae has had a hard time telling anyone how she is truly feeling. |

a roleplay sample:
“No, I’d say you’re more average for a boy your age…” Rae agreed with a wink. His antics had her mood lightening up considerably.
“Oh I sure it’s nothing a few tubes of toothpaste couldn’t handle.” In fact idea settled in the back of her mind, it may be a touch extreme and would leave her mouth smelling like she had just eaten an entire mint plant, but if it helped to even seem to remove the memory of Warren’s kiss it would be worth it.
She watched as his expression turned from joking around to downright impish. That was the Sirius she had come to know and love. She returned an innocent enough smile as a small giggle escaped her. “I thought it was a good ‘magician’ that never revealed theirs tricks…” She mused. “But I could be wrong, I mean I can’t be right all the time, that would just be boring. And not to mention it would take all the fun out of learning…” There she was just proving how much of a Ravenclaw she really was. Her love of learning having landed her in the house decked out in blues and coppers. Yet that was beside the point as she took in Sirius’ warning.
“Hopefully nothing too dastardly…” She said letting him guide her to where ever he seemed to fancy going at the moment. “Knowing you however I do hope you intend to make sure the Slytherins get the brunt of it. Seems like it might be something to really set them off.” She noticed his change of thought when she mentioned the Divination tower and gave a small laugh. She was not all that surprised at his reaction. Not many fancied the art of divination.
“It's a family tradition.” She explained for his benefit though. “Every other generation in my family a female is born whom is gifted in the craft. My Grandmother currently holds the title of Seer in the family.” She seemed to smile fondly pulling out a case from her bag and looking it over. “She was thrilled when it was revealed I had the family gift, seeing as I was the only girl born in the proper generation.” She said running a free hand over the delicate carvings. “I know Divination is not the most creditable of the magic arts, and many look down on it, but I still love it.” She opened the case and pulled out a card showing him the back. “Call it a family occupation if you will.” She said with a smile before putting the card back and replacing the case in her bag.
She had to laugh at how he described the smell of the place. “Oh then I am surprised you spend so much time around me. I’ve been in there enough to have the sage just about meld with my skin.” She really didn’t mind the sent though. It really was a relaxing one for her, but then again she was very used to it. “I guess sage is an acquired taste.” She said sticking her tongue out at him playfully.
