Rae walked along the halls of the school with no destination in mind. Her homework was done and she was even ahead on her assignments. Normally she would have chosen a quite place in the library to read some more about the history of divination or anything really that was connected to her beloved subject. Yet right now she wanted to think of anything besides that family trait of hers.
It had been another restless sleep for her as a dream took over her being, trapping her within her own person. While the events that unfolded before her were very fuzzy, she could tell it was not about a nice spring day with a happy couple taking a picnic and making a cosmic connection. The back of her mind had sent up a red flag at the end of it causing her to jerk awake. A cold shower had been in order after it and while she detested the frigidness of the water, it was enough to make her stop shaking from the hold it had on her.
She sighed as she paused before the door to the Armor Gallery. “Come on…” She muttered to herself. “It was completely blurred. You know that means it is not that likely to happen.” She turned and leaned on the wall letting her head fall back onto the smooth surface.
“It will come again and you know it. That’s why you can’t forget about it…” Another heavy sigh escaped her as she pushed off the wall and opened the door to walk inside. Maybe going over the history of the different pieces of armor would get her mind off things.
Her attention drifted from piece to piece as she walked along slowly, not a one holding her interest for long. She already knew a lot about the armor and doubted that there was anything new for her to learn about it. She walked over to one of the frosted windows and just looked out onto the winter landscape below. There was quite a few students out there playing, mostly the younger ones. She leaned against the window frame and looked forward. Looking down only reminded her that she was not on the first floor and made her heart skip a beat.
Her attention turned to the soft clouds floating in the sky. She didn’t know why she loved to look at them; they were up high while she remained on the ground. “Why must you be so out of my reach?” She asked them softly with a quirk of her lips. She was half expecting them to answer, but that was ridiculous. Clouds did not talk. Or at least not the way people did.
She watched their shapes for a while and studied their color. “Might snow tomorrow…” She mused. “And I have Herbology on Monday.” She let out a small groan. “Why can’t it snow in warmer weather?”
She pulled her robe closer around herself as she just enjoyed the sight before her.
